The stone flagged courtyard is at the heart of the inn which still boasts its original Tavern clock (see right).

Where once upon a time it was open to the elements and fitted out with spitoons - it is now tastefully glass roofed, and full of indoor plants - a somewhat more relaxing atmosphere!

Surrounding the courtyard are the two bars, the hotel reception and Cleone's - the 55 seat Italian Restaurant.

The bars open at 10am everyday serving coffees, teas and homemade biscuits and cakes. The bar menu commences at midday and runs throughout the day (limited choice in the afternoon) with the Italian menu available 12 - 2 and 6.30 - 9pm. However, whatever your choice you can be assured the emphasis is on both quality and value for money.

The atmosphere is further enhanced in the evening when all these areas are candlelit and in the winter months fires blaze away in the restaurant and main bar.
