The Bars

The Angel offers a choice of bars, the spacious Italian Restaurant and an airy, glazed courtyard allowing guests to relax in the atmosphere of their choosing. The front bar looks onto the Thoroughfare and is ideal for enjoying a bar meal or informal Italian meal whilst benefiting from a real fire during winter months. The smaller back bar gets the morning sun and is great for a coffee whilst reading the papers, or a drink following an energetic walk up the river.

Food is available all day from the bar menu with a wide range of dishes on offer. During the afternoon, choice is more limited but everything is freshly prepared and carefully served with the emphasis on quality and good value.

The Courtyard

The courtyard, under its high glazed roof serves to tie the building together and allows the other rooms their independence but is the place to meet friends and catch up on the latest news.

The verdant plantings lend a relaxing sense of calm whilst the Tavern Clock reminds us that we are but passing through. ... as it relentlessly marks time.

Dogs are welcome in the Courtyard area, but please refrain from bringing them into the bar or restaurant.

If the weather is really nice we have a small patio towards the rear of the building with heated smoking shelters and parasols.
